September 11 education resources provided
Discovery Education, in collaboration with the September 11th Families’ Association and Tribute WTC Visitor Center, will provide free educator resources, host previews of Discovery Channel’s documentary RISING: REBUILDING GROUND ZERO with panel discussions and update Discovery Education streaming with 9/11-focused resources.
Discovery Education will host four events in cities closely affected by 9/11 featuring previews of RISING: REBUILDING GROUND ZERO, a series showcasing the men and women determined to rebuild and restore a sacred site by constructing the new, 104-story One World Trade Center. Streamed live to students nationwide at no cost, each event will be followed by live panel discussions with members of the community who will share how they were personally affected by 9/11.
In addition to the events, Discovery Education is providing educators free online resources related to 9/11 available at www.discoveryeducation.com/911. Discovery Education streaming subscribers will have the exclusive opportunity to view episodes of RISING: REBUILDING GROUND ZERO along with K-12 curricular content, discussion guides and lesson plans.
